    A/C Service & Repair

A/C blowing warm or not cooling right? We test the system to find the actual cause before any parts are replaced — at AAJ Auto Service on South Cooper St.

    A/C Symptoms

    Signs Your A/C Needs Attention

A/C problems can be subtle at first. If the cabin isn't cooling like it used to, an inspection can catch the cause before it gets worse — especially in Texas heat.

    • A/C blowing warm or only slightly cool air
    • Weak airflow from the vents
    • Intermittent cooling — cold one trip, warm the next
    • Unusual sounds or smells when the A/C runs
    • The A/C compressor cycles on and off frequently, or not at all

    Possible Causes of Poor Cooling

Warm air from the vents can have several causes. We don't guess from a description — we test the system and find the actual problem before recommending any repair.

    Low Refrigerant

Low charge can mean a leak somewhere in the system — refrigerant doesn't get used up on its own.

    Electrical or Control Issue

A switch, sensor, relay, or wiring problem can keep the compressor from engaging.

    Compressor or Component

The compressor, condenser, expansion valve, or blower can fail or degrade over time.

    We Diagnose First

An A/C Check is a diagnostic appointment. The technician tests refrigerant pressure, checks compressor operation, inspects the blower and vents, and looks for leaks — then explains what's actually wrong in plain language.

No work starts without your approval. You decide what to repair and when.

    Engine Overheating Is Different

Engine overheating and cabin A/C not cooling are separate problems. An overheating engine can cause serious damage and may need urgent mechanical diagnosis.

If your temperature gauge is climbing or the engine is running hot, pull over safely and call the shop — don't keep driving.

    FAQ

    A/C Service Questions

What's the difference between an A/C Check and an A/C repair?

An A/C Check is a diagnostic appointment — we test the system and tell you what's wrong. Repairs are separate and happen only with your approval. If you're not sure what's wrong, start with an A/C Check.

My A/C blows warm — do I just need more refrigerant?

Not necessarily. Warm air can come from low refrigerant, an electrical issue, a component failure, or something else. Adding refrigerant without finding the cause can waste money and won't fix a leak or a failed part. We diagnose first.

How long does an A/C Check take?

The A/C Check appointment is about 30 minutes. If repairs are needed, the time and parts depend on what we find — we'll tell you before any work starts.

My engine is overheating — is that the A/C?

Engine overheating is different from cabin A/C not cooling. An overheating engine can cause serious damage and may need urgent mechanical diagnosis. If your temperature gauge is climbing, pull over and call the shop.
